DeWayne Wise’s fantastic catch in the fifth inning of today’s game against the Tigers, which helped to seal the deal, came at a cost. Unless Sox Super ‘Spect Gordon Beckham can also play Centerfield (and let’s face it, he probably can… while simultaneously riding a unicycle and doing your taxes while whistling “America the Beautiful”) the Sox are going to have to deal. Hopefully it won’t have a big impact, the Sox lineup is pretty strong no matter who bats ninth. I’d like to see Ozzie give utilityman Brent Lillibridge a shot at Center, he’s had a nice couple of games and plays some smart ball.
